Information
Privacy notice
Rust Census collects no personal profiles. This notice sets out what is recorded when you load a page, and what is not.
Access records
Loading a page on rustcensus.world writes an ordinary server log entry: the requesting IP address, the address of the page, the time, and the browser identification string. These entries are held briefly, for operating the site and for counting which pages are read. They are not combined with anything else and are not used to single out a visitor.
Delivery and protection
Traffic to this site passes through Cloudflare, which serves the pages and screens requests for automated abuse. Cloudflare handles visitors' IP addresses for that purpose and may place a security cookie when it runs a bot check. That cookie is Cloudflare's, not ours.
Storage in your browser
The display preference you choose is saved in your browser's local storage and stays on your device. It is not transmitted to us. No cookie is set by Rust Census itself.
No measurement scripts
There is no analytics tag, no advertising pixel and no cross-site tracker on these pages. We compile no visitor profile and have nothing about visitors to pass on or sell.
Figures about servers
The statistics published here describe Rust servers, not people. Names, populations, settings, descriptions and images are drawn from public server listings and from direct queries to those servers. Population appears as a total; it is never a record of which players are connected.
Files loaded from elsewhere
Typography is served from this domain. Country flags on the force wipe page are fetched from jsDelivr, a public code host, which therefore sees your IP address and browser details when that page loads. No Google service is used.

Questions and answers
Does Rust Census use cookies?
Rust Census sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the site, may set a security cookie of its own during a bot check; that cookie belongs to Cloudflare. Your display preference is kept in local storage on your device, not in a cookie.
What visitor information does Rust Census keep?
Ordinary access logs are kept for a short time: IP address, page requested and browser type. They exist to run the site and to see which pages are read. No profile of an individual visitor is built, and nothing about visitors is sold or shared.
Are the player figures a record of individual players?
No. Every figure published on Rust Census is a count of a server's population, taken from public listings and direct server queries. Player counts are totals, not lists of who is connected, and no individual player is identified anywhere on the site.
