Readers of Rust Census are players comparing public servers before a wipe.
This page sets out how advertising works at Rust Census. You reach players at the point where they choose a server, not at random across the web.
What is available
- A featured spot for a server on the pages players use to choose, including the server directory and the recently wiped list, and on the regional and play-style rankings.
- A banner on the home page or across the site.
- A sponsored placement on the force wipe countdown, which players check before each force wipe.
How we sell it
Placements are sold by the month. Write to hello@rustcensus.world with the server or product you want to list and the dates; the reply gives the options and current rates. All paid placements are marked as sponsored. Payment never changes the order of a ranking, and the figures published on a page are the ones we measure, whether or not a server advertises.
Our data methods are described on the about page.
Questions and answers
Will paying change where my server ranks?
No. Rankings and lists follow the data we record: population, wipes and settings. A sponsored placement is marked as sponsored and sits apart from the ordering of the rankings.
How do I ask about rates?
Write to hello@rustcensus.world and state the server or product and the dates you have in mind. A reply follows with the available placements and current monthly rates.
Where do sponsored placements appear?
On the home page, across the site as a banner, on the pages players use to choose a server, and on the force wipe countdown. Each placement is labelled as sponsored wherever it is shown.
